About Us
The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine Limited (ACRRM) is an accredited specialty medical college responsible for setting and maintaining professional standards for specialist general practitioners and rural generalists in Australia.
Nationally, ACRRM has more than 6,000 members, including Fellows, trainees and associate members, who live and work in rural, remote and First Nations communities across Australia. Members provide expert front line medical care in a diverse range of settings including general practices, hospitals, emergency departments, Aboriginal health services and other remote settings such as RFDS and the Australian Antarctic Division.
ACRRM’s core business is training and assessing specialist general practitioners for a rural generalist scope of practice, setting clinical standards for rural generalist practice; and support and advocacy services for rural, remote and First Nations communities and the health teams that serve them. Its vision is “Healthy rural, remote and First Nations communities through excellence, social accountability and innovation”.
The company’s headquarters is positioned in Brisbane, Queensland although the majority of staff work flexibly from state, regional or rural locations across the country. ACRRM offices are also located in Adelaide, Perth, Bunbury, Bendigo, Wodonga, Rockhampton, Townsville, Darwin and Wollongong.

General Manager
Digital, Technology & Information
The General Manager of Digital, Technology and Information is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and implementation of ACRRM’s digital, technology, and information systems. This role ensures ACRRM leverages technology to improve business processes, drive innovation, and deliver superior customer experiences. The GM will work closely with senior management and various departments to align technology initiatives with business goals.
With a focus on creating value, you will ensure performance requirements are met and delivered safely on time and within budget. As the GM you will also ensure appropriate governance, assurance, compliance, and resourcing to enable the effective management of business-related risk and ensure compliance with all obligations.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team you will also play a critical role in collectively leading ACRRM’s culture change and driving excellence in leadership, compliance, performance and member experience.
The GM Digital, Technology and Information reports to the CEO.

Key Accountabilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the role are described below. These may be amended from time to time by the CEO.
As the General Manager, Digital, Technology and Information, you will:
Lead the development and execution of the Digital Technology and Information strategy ensuring ACRRM is well positioned now and in the future, ensuring high performing “fit for purpose” technology solutions, security and practice.
Oversee all aspects of the data lifecycle so that data can be leveraged as a strategic business asset.
Effectively lead the Digital, Technology and Information team ensuring a high performance culture delivering quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Oversee ACRRM’s digital portfolio in the delivery of new technology innovations whilst managing disruption, risks and continuity of services
Manage external service providers and ensure service level agreements are met.
Oversee the organisation's cybersecurity strategy and manage various technology-related risks including disaster recovery planning and data & intellectual property protection.
Ensure Digital Technology and Information has a proactive approach to servicing the needs of the business and members, delivering DTI services where and when most needed for the benefit of ACRRM.
Focus on driving value through optimisation of our systems and smart use of our assets through continuous measurement and improvement principles.
Carry out other duties as directed by the CEO as required.
In all duties, comply with the behavioural expectations set out in our policies and procedures and leadership values.
Observe and comply with all ACRRM work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team this role contributes to the leadership of ACRRM and is required to:
Collaborate with other Executive team members in the development and implementation of corporate strategy
Plan, monitor and manage enterprise risks, and ensure compliance with company and statutory commitments
Provide the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board with timely and accurate updates, data and analytics and reporting.
What We Are Looking For

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or related discipline
Deep and demonstrated experience delivering organisational technology and data transformation programs by taking a whole system end-to-end approach ensuring all systems are fit for purpose and architected appropriately to deliver on the corporate strategy.
Experienced leader who combines technical expertise, business acumen, and governance skills to transform data into measurable business value while ensuring security, compliance, and ethical use across the organisation.
Demonstrated experience leading and balancing risk management practices, ensuring that risks and threats to the organisational technology environment are anticipated, responded to, and managed effectively.
Demonstrated experience in providing business solutions and strategic advice addressing complex business issues and innovative technology solutions.
Extensive experience in leading large multi-disciplinary teams with demonstrated commitment to improving technology, digital and information security, systems, processes and associated services.
Demonstrated strategic vision and agility with strong commercial acumen and success in delivery and execution.

Relevant post-graduate qualifications
Experience in membership-based organisations, healthcare, education, or accreditation sectors is highly regarded

Have high levels of integrity and professionalism with demonstrated capacity to model a positive, engaged, ethical organisational culture.
Actively seeks and appropriately applies feedback for professional and corporate improvements.
Demonstrated high level professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with internal and external stakeholders for whom English may not be the first language.

Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to engage with registrars, staff, fellows and stakeholders.
