About the role:

Head of Transformation Delivery

The Head of Transformation Delivery is responsible for leading a team of delivery professionals to ensure that WorkCover’s enterprise program of work is delivered efficiently, aligns with business objectives, and delivers value to stakeholders. This role requires an exceptional leader who can foster a high-performance delivery culture and strives to continuously improve WorkCover’s project management and delivery practices. 

Your responsibilities

As the Head of Transformation Office, your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of delivery professionals including program and project managers and other delivery professionals to effectively deliver WorkCover’s enterprise program of work. 

  • Oversee the establishment and ongoing management of projects within the enterprise program of work ensuring that they align with WorkCover’s governance practices, methodologies and key legislative and regulatory requirements. 

  • Lead resource allocation, capability and capacity planning across the enterprise program of work including identifying, securing and managing resources as required such as program and project managers, business analysts, change management and other delivery professionals. 

  • Work with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office to ensure appropriate governance is in place across projects. 

  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery methodologies and processes including risk management, resource planning and financial management in collaboration with other areas of the business including the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Finance. 

  • Monitor overall project health and develop informative reports for key stakeholders including the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Executives. 

  • Work with the project sponsors and teams to monitor and manage risks, dependencies, and issues across projects, proactively resolving challenges to maintain delivery momentum. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business including Executives, the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, project / program sponsors, and other senior leaders across the business. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability and success through setting clear expectations, performance targets, coaching, one on ones, providing clear and regular constructive feedback, engaging team members and regular performance review.

  • Work collaboratively and constructively across peers to build trust, break down silos, discuss issues, resolve problems, and build constructive peer relationships.

  • Actively engage, participate and contribute in leadership team meetings and other forums. 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Relevant experience or qualifications in business management or project management. 

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business management, program/project/portfolio management, operations management or a similar field. 

    • Strong knowledge and experience of project management methodologies, tools and governance. 

    • Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. 

    • Extensive leadership experience in dynamic and complex change environments, including leading teams through change and dealing with ambiguity. 

    • Experience in a financial services organisation or similar regulated environment. 

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. 

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

    • Ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and work well under pressure. 

    • Ability to work with ambiguity and ever-changing landscape. 

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively and efficiently. 

    • Experience in designing and developing detailed reporting for key stakeholders. 

    • High level of computer literacy, working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Office 365 suite including Microsoft Teams. 

    • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external customers and stakeholders. 

    • Well-developed presentation skills. 

    • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external parties. 

    • Hands-on, analytical, meticulous, strong in processes and financial concepts, and a problem solver. 

    • Excellent time management and organisational skills. 

    • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy at all times. 

    • Excellent adaptive team leadership capabilities, including the ability to foster productive team dynamics, engage and enable teams and coach for performance. 

    • Influence stakeholders, provide strategic input and constructively challenge current ways of working. 

    • Actively reflect on day-to-day activities, ensuring gradual and continuous betterment of our people, processes, and tools. 

    • Role model WorkCover values and supports business visions and directions in all dealings with customers, external suppliers, and our people. 

    • Operate in line with regulations, policies, procedures, and contractual arrangements. 

    • Ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with WorkCover’s records management policies and procedures and meet legislative and business requirements. 

    • Adhere to appropriate financial, establishment, records management, risk management and audit controls. 

    • Think and act commercially, balancing risk management and budgets.
