
Chief Executive Officer / General Manager
Position Purpose
Under delegation from the Board, the CEO is responsible for shaping and executing the organisation's strategic direction, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities and their families. The CEO promotes a culture that is person-centred, ethical, professional and supports Tardiss’ mission, vision and values. The CEO leads the executive team and encourages a culture of striving for excellence, fostering participation, equity, inclusion, responsibility, and accountability in all that we do.
As the conduit between the board of directors, management team, and business operations, the CEO implements the strategy approved by the Board and ensures that the organisation's structure, processes, business strategies and plans, meet the strategic and cultural needs and short/long-term objectives of the organisation.
This position ensures the effective delivery of complex, diverse customer services by building and leading high performing teams consistent with organisation policy and plans based on the principles of the NDIS and within a Human rights framework.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and articulate a clear strategic vision for the organisation in line with its mission and values.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to formulate and execute short-term and long-term strategic plans.
Translate, communicate, and imbed the strategy, vision, and culture for the organisation.
Identify opportunities for growth, expansion, and innovative service delivery models.
Organisational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations, including program management, human resources, financial management, quality assurance and administration.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive organisational culture that promotes teamwork, diversity, and employee engagement.
Drive and model customer service philosophy. Role model expected standards of behaviour and performance.
Provide mentorship and guidance to senior leadership staff, promoting professional development and growth.
Service Excellence
Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality and person-centred support services to individuals with disabilities.
Monitor service outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance the impact of the organisation's programs.
Stakeholder Engagement
Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including clients, families, government agencies, community partners, and funders.
Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities within the local community and at broader levels.
Financial Management
Develop and manage the organisation's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
Identify funding opportunities, secure grants, and diversify revenue streams to support the organisation's growth and mission.
Compliance and Regulation
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to disability support services.
Ensure audit processes are carried out and reported to comply with relevant legislation, Tardiss Rules and funding requirements.
Monitor and address any risk factors that may affect the organisation's operations or reputation.
Essential and desirable skills or experience

Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive innovation and growth.

A proven track record of senior leadership experience, preferably as a CEO or in a similar executive role within the disability support services sector.

Strong understanding of disability services, NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), and related regulations. A thorough working knowledge of and application of the philosophy and rationale for human rights-based approaches in the disability sector.

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Leadership and management experience, including staff, financial, change management and effective resource management.

Knowledge of financial and people management strategies.

A commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and the empowerment of individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications and extensive experience in Management and/or Disability Services/related discipline.

At least 10 years’ experience in senior roles with significant leadership experience in HR, Financial Management, Quality Assurance, Strategic planning, and Business planning (desirable, not essential).
Essential requirements

NDIS Worker Screening Check (State-based), NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Current Qld Driver's Licence, Working with Children's (WWC) check.

Current class C driver license (QLD) and ability to use your own insured vehicle.

Covid-19 Vaccination requirements as determined under the Public Health Directions and/or alternative measures as determined by Tardiss.

National NDIS Worker Screening Check or current Yellow Card.
